EDUCATORS: 

SUSAN EMORY

Susan Emory is a former quilt shop owner and the talent behind Swirly Girls Design pattern company.  She is a licensed designer for Michael Miller Fabrics and created the Clubhouse Quilt Club, a progressive quilt program.  In addition to fabric, quilt patterns and books, Susan designed the monogram buttons for Dill Buttons and has collaborated on two rulers for Creative Grids. Susan is actively involved in the quilting industry.  She is a member of the International Association of Creative Arts Professionals and Central Virginia Modern Quilt Guild and an Aurifil Thread Specialist.  Susan teaches quilting nationwide and is a 2015 Professional Quilter Teacher of the Year nominee.

Amy Baughmann

Amy Baughman is the creative director at SewInformed.com.  She is considered a expert in machine arts, with Appliqué and Decorative stitch embellishments.  Amy has been sewing since the age of 12.  She has taught at international sewing machine conventions and trade shows as well in independent sewing machine dealer stores.  Amy has followers all over the world through her sewing class web site, SewInformed.com.  “The More You Know, The More You Sew”.

PROJECTS AND TECHNIQUES:

You will go home feeling rested, educated and accomplished after spending 3 days with Amy and Susan in sunny Las Vegas.  Each day a new project will pique your interest and improve your quilting skills.  These fun projects offer essential techniques like accurate 1/4″ piecing, simple machine applique, installing a zipper, piecing perfect points and more.  You don’t want to miss it!

PACKAGE PRICING:     $1299 per person*

(DISCOUNT OF $200 PER PERSON IF BOOKED BY MARCH 25, 2016)

*Locals not wanting a hotel room may deduct $150 from package rate.

Pricing is based on double occupancy.  Single room is an additional $300. If you wish to extend your stay at SLS, the price for August 11 is $75 and the price for August 12 – 13 is $129.  This rate does not include the taxes and resort fee of $29 per night.  These nights will be charged to you directly at the hotel upon checkout.

Travel insurance is not included but is strongly recommended and will be quoted to you at the time of your initial deposit.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

$250 deposit due at time of registration A second $250 deposit is due on March 1, 2016. Final balance is due on June 15, 2016.

At Starfish Quilt Retreats, we organize and provide on-site management for 3 day hotel retreats in fabulous cities across the country.  You will enjoy 3 full days of quilting, interesting and enthusiastic educators, project kits.  Machines will be provided by Janome and will be for purchase at the end of the retreat.  We hope you will join us.

All registrations will be managed by Travel Adventures by Michelle.  Michelle owns and operates a full-service travel agency and is available to assist you with flights, car rentals, travel insurance, etc.  Any outside reservations will not be honored by Starfish Quilt Retreats and will not be a part of the events.
