EDUCATOR:  We are excited to welcome Carmen Geddes as our educator for this cruise.  Carmen resides in Eagle Mountain, Utah.  Together with her husband, Patrick, they have 3 sons and 2 daughters.  They are blessed with 9 beautiful grandchildren. Carmen started sewing and quilting as a young girl, and has been hooked ever since.  She owned her own children’s clothing business in Seattle, Washington while raising her kids.  She has worked for Husqvarna Viking dealers for over 17 years. PROJECT:  Carmen has designed a wonderful quilt for this cruise, titled Block Party.  The quilt will feature two color waves and block variations.  Pattern and kit will be included as part of your Quilt Retreat at Sea program package.

Instruction will take place during our days at sea.  The classroom will be closed during our time in port.  The classroom will be open each evening for Open Stitch & Sail.  Sewing machines are provided by Janome.  Ironing and cutting stations will be provided to be shared by quilters.

MS WESTERDAM:

Westerdam

We will be sailing onboard the beautiful ms Westerdam.  The third ship in the Vista-series class of Holland America ships, the Westerdam embraces the latest industry and environmental technologies.  The theme of the art collection is Dutch heritage in the New World.  Holland America is known for its wonderful cultural enrichment activities, lectures, cooking demonstrations, etc.
