EDUCATORS: Jacquelyn Morris-Smith will be teaching on this fun cruise to Bermuda. Jacquelyn is a retired nurse, a full-time quilter, and a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), which she uses in her quilting. She began sewing at the age of 11 or 12, making her own clothing. As a young mother of 6, she made clothing for her children, as well as utility quilts to keep her family warm. In 2006, she designed her first project – a wall hanging photo frame – so she could display her family photos without taking up too much space in her home. She now teaches in local quilt shops, designs art quilts, and spends time traveling to fun places around the world.
SPONSOR: Margaret Chair is the owner of Quilt Corner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. “Aunt Mag” comes from a long line of crafters. Her mother taught her to embroider when she was 5 years old. She learned to sew from her grandmother when she was just a young woman. Her passion for quilting began with a simple baby blanket for her first great-niece. As she states, “I truly drank the ‘Quilting Kool-Aid” and since then she has been fully engrossed in the art of quilting.
THE PROJECT: Jacquelyn and Margaret have designed a mystery quilt – Bermuda Vortex. You will have to come along to find out what it will be, but we can guarantee you that it will be a fun project and will be appropriate for all skill level quilters.
